Melrose has a private car park and large gardens with a patio area & BBQ for visitor’s use. Proprietors Chris and Noel O’Brien will give their personal attention during your stay. Full breakfast menu is offered with locally sourced produce and home baking. Bedrooms at the B&B are modern and pleasantly decorated with en-suites with power showers, television, tea & coffee facilities, hairdryers etc. A high chair and cot are also available to families on request.

Company Profile Melrose B&B is located in Clonakilty which is known as the beach centre of West Cork. It is also home to magnificent scenery and has numerous attractions for visitors including the West Cork Model Railway Village, Lios-na-gCon Ringfort, stone circles & many other historical sites. There is a choice of plenty beautiful Coves & Beaches including the well-known Inchydoney Beach. The area is a great location for active stays with golf & pitch & putt courses, surfing, swimming, horse-riding, walking, fishing, cinema, and children’s playground all within minutes from Melrose B&B. Clonakilty is the winner of many Tidy Towns and Entente Florale awards and is also noted for its restaurants and local pubs with live music. This is an ideal base for touring Cork and Kerry.
Just about 20 minutes drive South East of Clonakilty are Coolum Cliffs near Butlerstown village. These are the second-highest cliffs in Ireland. Continue your scenic drive through Courtmacsherry and visit the 14th century Franciscan Abbey at Timoleague.
Approx the same distance to the West you will find Drombeg Stone Circle, dating back to 150 BC. Other places of beautiful scenery are Glandore, Rosscarbery, Castlefreake, and Galley Head Lighthouse, among many others.
DIRECTIONS-
Coming from Cork, go straight through the roundabout and through the town centre (one way system). On the western outskirts you will see Dunnes Stores on your right. Take a left at the flowerbeds opposite Dunnes Stores. Pass Quay Motor Garage and take the sharp right to Melrose B&B. We are also sign-posted on the way.
Alternatively, Coming from Cork take the detour at the roundabout, pass the wheel pump on your right. Keep on the detour and pass you will pass the children’s playground on your right. Just past the traffic calming is a flowerbed on a crosswords. Go straight through and we are just up the smaller road next to West Cork Carpets.
